A Norwegian problem...

Did you know, that right now there is a country in Europe, where wealth and good economic figures, are actually a...problem? Well, that seems to be the case in Norway!

Actually, Mrs Erna Solberg, head of the conservative party, who recently won the elections, faces a serious dilemma:

Slow down it's booming economy, as a result of the huge oil reserves, (that have caused inflationary pressures and an overheating in the Norwegian crown), or not. Since the end of the 90s, exists a tradition, strictly followed by all parties.

All revenues from oil,go to a state fund (750 billion us dollars invested abroad), and only a 4% stays in the country, covering it's social needs.

Now Mrs Solberg is willing to lower this amount to 3%, and to cool that way, the economy. We, as a country, don't have enough room for unnecessary expenses, said Mr Oeystein Doerum, chief economist at the larger Norwegian bank, DNB......

In conclusion, it is true that ....sometimes, wealth doesn't go together with happiness....
