From S.Africa ( 2010 ) to South America's Brasil, the World Cup will kick off on the 12th of June and end with its grand final on the 13th of July. One full month of thrilling emotions for the king of sports afficionados across the planet !
32 national teams will try their best, to bring home (unless home proves to be..Brasil ), the prestigious trophy.
Let us have a first EYE at the groups :
32 national teams will try their best, to bring home (unless home proves to be..Brasil ), the prestigious trophy.
Let us have a first EYE at the groups :
1. In GROUP A, we meet Brasil, Croatia, Mexico and Cameroon
One clean favourite Brasil, and three for a place in the sun.
To my understanding, it has to be Brasil and Mexico.
2. GROUP B, includes Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia
It looks like Spain will beat Chile and Australia as also will the flying Dutch, so you don't have to be ..extremely smart to realize the importance of the opening game of the group between the two, on the 13th of June in Salvador. A tie score, should leave both teams wondering..
3. GROUP C, with Colombia, Greece, Japan and Cote d'Ivoire
A very tough group, where literally everything can happen..
Colombia very strong at the preliminaries will have to get used to the idea that it will play without ( 90% ) their injured leader Radamel Falcao, Greece depends and relies on its tough and successful defence, Japan the most athletic of them all, with players running like crazy, and finally the legendary African team, with strong names like D.Drogba and Yaya Toure leading the dance. All crossings look totally unpredictable.
Very important FACTOR : Opening match between Colombia and Greece ! Without any guarantees.. Greece, Colombia go through.
4. GROUP D, with Uruguay, Costarica, England and Italy
Well, Uruguay and its "bad " boy Luis Suarez, tops my forecasts. Italy can dream second place, with only disadvantage the inexperienced new kids. ( With big ambitions though ). England has an unsuccessful tradition against, but who can ignore the fact that all started there and that Premiership, is considered the best in the continent. Poor Joe Campbell's Costarica appears without serious expectations, but certainly will fight..for new experiences, which..sometimes not very often, lead to big surprises.
5. GROUP E, Switzerland, Equador, France and Honduras
France should be my first chance, followed by Ecuador.
6. GROUP F, Argentina, Bosnia Herzegovina, Nigeria and Iran
Here we meet Leo's and Kun's latin dream team, inevitably absolute favourites and a small step ahead for Nigeria.
7. GROUP G, Germany,Portugal, Ghana and USA
It looks like Germany-Portugal to advance and remains to see if Ghana can surprise, unfortunately..not for itself, but working for USA ! Very crucial the two opening games, can define everything from day one..
8. GROUP H, Belgium, Algeria, Russia and Korea Republic
Safe forecasts in the last group : For sure Belgium ( which to the blogger's EYE can walk much higher ), and Russia.
If something astonishing is to happen, it will be on the 17th during Russia v Korea..
========= ==========
..And some extra comments covering the whole World Cup :
A lot will depend on how the traditional powers in Europe, will present themselves. Will the national competition have an effect ? Shall their top players, with the extra burden of the Champions League, make it in Brasil ?
And by the way, let's not forget that all big names of the Latin superpowers, will appear in the courts of Brasil with just a week's rest ! And despite the fact that the majority of the knowers gives an advantage to S.American teams, the blogger keeps his distances and remains cautious....
