Seafood in Venice

Venice has some superb seafood restaurants, with a selection of fish that includes both local specialities such as baccala (dried salt cod), bovoleti (small clams), cape longhe (razor clams), granseola (spider crab) and scallops, as well fresh fish ...from elsewhere Italy's seas, such as swordfish, cuttlefish and tuna. Here are three of the best dining restaurants with a predominance of fish on the menu.

1. IL RIDOTTO, (Castello)

A contemporary seafood restaurant, where booking is essential because there are very few tables in a small dining room.
The menu includes a couple of non seafood alternatives, as well.

2. AL COVO (Castello)

If you like fish, don't miss Al Covo, where everything is prepared and served to perfection.

3. LINEADOMBRA, (Dorsoduro)

A fine-dining restaurant where the creative menu comprises a great deal of fish prepared in contemporary style. In good weather the terrace, with its magnificent views, is an experience in itself.
